Ali & Jason

A Summer Wedding on the Roof Top of the Ernst & Young Building

We were so excited when we first got the call about Ali and Jason’s wedding because we had such fond memories the last time we spent a wedding day with Ali’s family for Carla and Anthony’s big day.  We got even more excited when we found out that the ceremony was going to take place on the rooftop terrace of the Ernst & Young building overlooking Lake Erie in Downtown Cleveland.  We took a little peak at the ceremony location before getting started for the day and the views did not disappoint.

I got to know Ali and Jason a little better during their engagement session last January.  From the engagement session, the planning process, and being around them on the wedding day, we discovered that they are both hard working, kind, compassionate, loyal people who like to play as hard as they work.  While I’m sure they all work hard as well, the “play hard” trait seems to be pretty common amongst their friends and family if the dance floor later that night was any indication.

We started at the Aloft hotel where both Jason and Ali where getting ready for the day.  We brought Jason up to the rooftop terrace where Ali soon joined him for their first look.  It can he challenging to find a little solitude in such a busy place, but that rooftop made us feel like we had the whole city to ourselves.  We gathered up the bridal party to hit a few key Cleveland landmarks during our portrait time with them including the “welcome to Cleveland sign” sign, East 9th St. Pier, and outside the Cleveland Public Library.

The ceremony on the rooftop was absolutely breathtaking.  We had a clear blue sky as a backdrop and a cool breeze coming off the lake.  It really couldn’t have been any more ideal.  After the ceremony, Ali and Jason hosted everyone for cocktail hour and a food station dinner in the courtyard between the Aloft and the E&Y building.  After dinner, Ali, Jason and all their guests lit up the dance floor like few other receptions we have seen.  Carla and Anthony’s wedding gave us a taste of what to expect and it was everything we hoped for.

Ali and Jason – your wedding was so much fun for us and we are so glad we got to spend the day with you.  Here is just a taste of some of our favorites from the day.  Can’t wait to show you the rest in person!
