Two more wonderful souls were joined together when Amber and Brett tied the knot at Our Lady of the Peace Church in Cleveland. The rain threatened for most of the day, and even made good on those threats a few times, but there was no way that was going to keep Brett and Amber from having a thoroughly wonderful time with their friends and family.
After the ceremony, we took the bridal party to a spot that Genevieve has had her eye on for quite some time but haven’t been able to shoot in for one reason or another until that day. The limo driver, who evidently has been a Clevelander for quite some time, informed us that it was in fact the old Warner Swasey telescope and machine factory that at one point employed over 700 people. It has been empty for quite some time and it looks pretty apocalyptic inside but it really is a beautiful space in its own right. From the factory, we set off towards the flats until the rain chased us back to the House of Blues for the reception.
If you are going to have your reception at a concert hall, why not have your favorite band provide the entertainment? That was the idea when they asked Abby Normal and the Detroit Lean, one of Brett and Amber’s favorite local bands, to take the stage. They really pounded out the energy with an impressive set of covers helped along by the world class sound and lighting setup provided by the House of Blues. The combined effect was a pretty epic reception.
Let’s start of with some of Genevieve’s favorite images:
