A couple dressed formally stands close together, smiling affectionately under a large, rusted metal structure surrounded by greenery—capturing the romantic spirit of a Music Box Supper Club wedding as sunlight filters through the leaves.

A Fall Wedding at Music Box Supper Club

Danny and Ashley first met and started dating in High School twelve years ago, and they have been inseparable ever since.  Sure, they had to date long distance during college and for a couple of years when Dan’s job took him to LA while Ashley worked in Chicago, but they have been inseparable in the ways that really matter.  Ashley is outgoing, talkative, and spilling over with energy and happiness while Danny seems to take a more even approach to things.  They balance each other out perfectly in this way and we are so glad we got to capture some of those dynamics on their wedding day.

Ashley and Danny saw each other for the first time on their wedding day on the rooftop of the Metropolitan at the 9, where Ashley and her bridesmaids got ready.  The view up there is fantastic and it provided a point of view of Cleveland that we have never been able to shoot before.  The bridal party of 22 comprising of siblings, cousins, and friends going all the way back to high school joined us on the rooftop shortly after for some group photos before we jumped into the limo to head over to the East 9th St. Pier.

The ceremony and reception took place at the Music Box Supper Club located on the west bank of the flats.  This was our first time shooting in this unique and beautiful venue.  The ceremony took place just as the sun was setting and the glow of candles and the bare light bulbs suspended high over head gave cocktail hour and the reception a warm, cozy, rustic feel.  One of the benefits of having your reception at a music venue is that the band is going to sound phenomenal and there will be lots of room for dancing.  I think my favorite moment of the reception is when Ashley and Danny took to the dance floor for their first song “You Are All I Need” by Radiohead poured out of the loudspeakers.  The choice of that song was simply sublime and combined with the ambiance of the room, was probably one of the most hauntingly beautiful first dances I have ever seen.

A huge thanks goes out to Tricia from Always Eventful for helping keep all of the details together; you do amazing work!

Ashley and Danny; thank you so much for trusting us to capture your wedding!  It was a truly remarkable event and we can’t wait to show you all that we have in store!  In the meantime, here’s a collection of some of our favorite images from the day.

A pair of elegant high-heeled sandals with sparkling silver fabric and slim straps, ideal for a ceremony, displayed on a reflective black surface against a black background. A joyful bride with light brown hair smiles and touches her face, reflected in a mirror in a warmly lit room in Akron, showcasing her engagement ring. A man is adjusting his tie while looking into a large round mirror. He is dressed in a white shirt and is concentrating on his task. The room, perhaps in a chic reception area in Akron or Cleveland, boasts contemporary design with a patterned wall and a modern light fixture with two bulbs mounted next to the mirror. Three men in white shirts and black pants adjusting their ties while standing in a room with elegant wall moldings and a lamp during a ceremony. An older man helps a younger man fasten his cufflinks in a well-lit room with elegant decor at an Akron wedding, conveying a tender, preparatory moment. Close-up of a woman in a white robe with monogram initials, holding a champagne flute at a reception. Focus is on the glass and her well-manicured fingers, with gold bracelet visible. Three women, dressed in sparkling gowns, help another woman in a white bridal dress prepare for her wedding ceremony. The setting is an elegant room in Cleveland, softly illuminated by ambient lighting and bokeh from a light decoration. A bride in a white lace dress is standing next to a woman in black, possibly her mother. The woman in black is gently holding the bride's arms and resting her head on the bride's shoulder. Sunlight streams through the window, casting a warm glow that feels like a serene moment shared in Cleveland. A group of women dressed in elegant evening wear, smiling and laughing in a warmly lit room in Cleveland, celebrating a special occasion together. A black and white image of a man in a suit adjusting his tie, standing outside a modern building with a geometric design at a wedding reception.
