Eleni and Kosta have a long and wonderful history. Â They grew up just a few miles from each other, attended church and youth events together and have been family friends since childhood. Â They both played basketball in high school and unlike most, Kosta turned those high school basketball dreams into a long and successful career that continues today. Â Even though their lives in the NBA take them all over the country for most of the year, they made the choice to bring their wedding ceremony and reception back home to North Canton so that they could celebrate with all of their family, friends, and the community that they have been a part of for so long.
Both Kosta and Eleni spent the morning at their parent’s house surrounded by family as they prepared for the day. Â We loved seeing and documenting the interactions between the family members and using the surroundings to incorporate a bit of family history in the coverage. Â For instance, loved having the portrait of Kosta’s late father in the background as his mom and Koumbaro help with the finishing touches. Â While he was deeply missed, he got to be a part of the day in that small way.
The ceremony took place at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in North Canton. Â Friends and family filled the place to capacity and a little beyond as they shared their vows inside the amazing nave. Â The receiving line afterward seemed to go on forever as they greeted, hugged, and kissed every last one of them. Â After a quick rice exit and family photos, Kosta and Eleni jumped in the Rolls to make a short detour to McKinley Monument for some late afternoon portraits before joining the party at the John S. Knight Center.
The evening that followed was that of dinner, dancing, drinks, more dancing, lots of airborne dollar bills, and even more dancing. Â The floral decor by Pieter Bouterse combined with the lighting design from Vincent Lighting transformed the room into a magical, welcoming space. Â All of this came together under the watchful eye of Tricia and her staff at Always Eventful who were ever present in just the right capacity the whole day to keep every little detail on track.
Kosta and Eleni – congratulations and thank you so much for allowing us to be part of your day! Â We loved spending the day with you as well as seeing several of our past brides and some of our own friends, neighbors and past colleagues at your wedding. Â It’s a day we will not soon forgot. Â We have lots to show you but in the meantime, here are some of our favorite images from the day. Â Enjoy!
