Navid and Melissa met on their first day in residency while on their way to becoming the accomplished plastic surgeons that they are today. Navid took a chance when he walked up to Melissa and asked “Hi, I’m Navid, am I too tall?” I’m speculating that Melissa had to make a split second decision in that moment, and by all accounts, she chose correctly. A lot has happened in Melissa and Navid’s lives since that day but that is their story to tell. But on this day, the got to celebrate everywhere they have been, and everywhere they will go together, and we are so glad we got to photograph this special day for them.
Navid and Melissa started the day at the Hilton Downtown right across the street from Cleveland’s iconic courthouse where the ceremony and reception would take place. We got to take good advantage of everything the courthouse has to offer from the grand staircase to the ironwork and the mezzanine. We have shot in the courthouse many times be we are always able to find something new to see. We loved seeing the Persian elements that Navid and his family brought to the day. The ceremony spread was a stunning sight to behold. Other highlights included Melissas “Botox shots” and Navid slipping back behind the DJ booth to spin a few tunes of his own.
