Dina and Thomas’ wedding at Holy Rosary Church and The Ballroom at Park Lane was packed full of the kinds of personal touches that we love seeing our clients weave into their wedding day. From the ceremony and photo locations, to the guitar as a guest book, and all the other little surprises that Dina and Thomas had in store for each other, Dina and Thomas where able to incorporate elements of their family history, hobbies and passions all throughout the day.
The ceremony location at Holy Rosary Church in Cleveland’s Little Italy played a particularly significant roll as Dina’s grandmother grow up in Little Italy, and was later wed at the same church. I’m sure it was a very special experience for Grandma to be able to witness her granddaughter say her vows at the same alter decades later. We also visited a few other areas around Little Italy that have also played a part in Thomas and Dina’s lives. We stopped by the house where her grandmother grew up much to the surprise of the current occupants as well as Murray Hill School, Presti’s, and The Tavern of Little Italy. We also made a stop at the East Ninth Street pier for some Cleveland pride as well as Lakeview Cemetery before being promptly told that we had to leave by someone claiming to be the CEO of the cememtary.
Dina and Thomas’ reception at the Park Lane Ballroom was just full of little surprises. Dina surprised and thrilled Thomas with a song during cocktail hour much to the delight her their guests. Thomas and Dina have been making music together for many years and based on the look on Thomas’ face, this gesture seemed to strike straight to the core of their relationship. Dina also surprised her parents with a special dance honoring their marriage and everything that have done for and Thomas in the past. And if that wasn’t enough, Thomas and the bridesmaids turned around and shocked Dina with a flash mob performance of “All You Need Is Love” complete with guitar solos and a horn section.
Throughout the day, our initial impressions that Thomas and Dina are two extremely kind and caring people where nothing but confirmed when I saw how they cared for and treated everyone around them. They made us feel so welcomed and appreciated and we thoroughly enjoyed getting to know their families and bridal party a little better.
If you are ever in the Dayton area, find your way to a little pizza joint called Spinoza’s on a Saturday night. There, you will find two people deeply in love doing what they love most; making music together. Dina on vocals, and Thomas on his Martin guitar. This long standing tradition has helped cement their relationship and has been the origin of some of their closest friendships. May the music continue for many decades to come, Thomas and Dina!
