Sam and Rachael’s St. Clair Ballroom wedding in beautiful downtown Cleveland on the fourth of July was everything they hoped it would be and we are so glad that we got to be a part of it. It has been such a pleasure getting to know the couple throughout the planning process and on their wedding day. Sam describes Rachael as incredibly caring and thoughtful and very loyal to those close to her. Rachael told us that Sam is full of compassion and honesty, is the perfect blend of goofy and smart, and is her personal chef. What else could you ask for? We got to see a lot of these personality traits first hand on their wedding day which was an incredibly rewarding experience to document.
The day started with preparations and a private first look at the newly renovated Marriott Key Center. We had a good amount of rain to contend with but thankfully the Marriott and the attached restaurant, The Venetian, provided an abundance of gorgeous surroundings to explore and shoot in. After a couple of tries we did finally manage to sneak our way outside between the raindrops for a quick outdoor portrait session with just Sam and Rachael. It’s so important us to stay flexible, open minded, and a tad opportunistic on a wedding day and it was so great to see how enthusiastic Sam and Rachael were about following our every lead.
The ceremony and reception that followed were both just jaw droopingly beautiful. The chuppah seemed to float in mid-air during the candle lit ceremony and the combination of white kalalilies, roses, and orchids all throughout the ballroom was a feast for the eyes. Kim and her team at Noteworthy Events did a stellar job as usual managing all the big and little details of thy day and the Sly Band didn’t miss a beat when it came to keeping the dance floor packed and active.
Sam and Rachael – we are so glad that we got to be a part of your day and we are so very happy for you! Here are some of our favorite moments with much more coming very soon!
