Laura & Adam

A Summer Wedding at Severance Hall and the Glidden House

Laura and Adam first met in high school where they often collaborated on musicals and in band. But it wasn’t until they re-connected nearly a decade later and several hundred miles away in New York City that their relationship in its current form began to take shape.  Laura was already living in NYC working as an actress and Adam had just moved to the city to play drums on Broadway.  They were re-introduced by a mutual friend and were friends for a year before they officially started dating.  Together, Laura and Adam are perfect for each other.  Laura is outgoing and driven to achieve while Adam is more laid back, supportive, and very analytical.  It’s a combination of personalities that has worked out quite well for Genevieve and I so I have no doubt that they will have a long and happy marriage together.

Laura and Adam envisioned a classic, elegant and romantic wedding with an air of old world charm.  With their love for and extensive experience in the performing arts, what better venue could there possibly be to get married in than Severance Hall?  Severance Hall is the historic summer home of the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra and is right next door to many of Cleveland’s most significant cultural landmarks.  After the ceremony in the stunning red marble rotunda, we walked across the street to Wade Lagoon to enjoy the nature, architecture and views just outside the Cleveland Museum of Art.  The late afternoon sun came out at just the perfect time to really give their wedding day portraits that extra bit of magic that only the right light at the right time can bring.

The reception that followed at The Glidden House was a beautiful affair that struck all the right notes for Adam and Laura.  Heatherlily elevated the room with their stunning floral decor, Marigold Catering brought the exquisite cuisine, and Chris from Cleveland Music Group kept the dance floor moving.  All the pieces came together perfectly thanks to the careful planning of Laura’s mother, Bonnie, and the expert coordination by Brandi of All Events Planned.

Laura and Adam – congratulations, and thank you so much for trusting us with the memory of your wedding day!  And Adam, thanks for indulging me with our short conversation about guitar and music theory.  It’s something I find super fascinating but don’t get to talk about very often.

An elegant brick building with an arched entryway and blue canopy, viewed through an ornate iron gate under a clear sky, perfect for a wedding reception. A wedding dress hangs on a door in Akron, beautifully highlighted under a warm light against a dark background, with its reflection captured in two circular mirrors on an adjacent wall. A bride in a lace dress is gently assisted by an older woman, possibly her mother, in a serene, softly-lit reception room. Their expressions are focused and tender. A black-and-white photo of a man in a white shirt adjusting his black bow tie while looking at his reflection in a mirror, preparing for a wedding ceremony. A black and white photo capturing a tender moment during a ceremony where an older woman adjusts a younger woman's bridal veil by a window, with soft light illuminating their silhouettes. Four men in tuxedos stand next to each other in front of glass doors at a reception in a hallway with sconce lighting. The image is in black and white, emphasizing a formal atmosphere. A bride in a flowing white gown with a veil holds a bouquet, gazing at her reflection in a large standing mirror in a dimly lit room with warm hues during her reception. A man in a tuxedo adjusts his tie while looking at his reflection in a mirror in a warmly lit hallway during a ceremony. A bride in a white dress laughs joyfully, wiping a tear, while holding her bouquet as bridesmaids in taupe dresses smile and share the happy moment during the reception in a warmly lit room. A wedding ceremony in a lavishly decorated room in Cleveland, with a golden ornate ceiling, intricate ironwork, and a beautiful chandelier. Guests are standing as the bride and groom walk down the aisle.
