What began as a blind date set up by mutual friends just hit a major milestone as Kenneth and Lauren tied the knot at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens and Portage Country Club. Â Friends and family gathered from far and wide to help make it a special day filled with the perfect balance of classic elegance and fun spontaneity.
Ken and Lauren took a different approach to their vows from any wedding we have photographed in the past. Â Instead of reading their vows to each other during the ceremony in front of their guests, they chose to read them to each other in private immediately at the start of the day right after their first look. Â It was an intimate, powerful moment and something we felt quite honored to be a part of to capture.
We joined up with the bridal party immediately after their vow exchange for creative portraits in and around Portage Country Club and Stan Hywet. Â The weather was absolutely stunning and could not have cooperated any more. Â We where able to hit several spots around the gardens as well as inside and we are super excited about what we where able to create.
The ceremony took place at the Tea House which sits at the end of Birch Allee which is probably the most epic “down the aisle” walk to be found anywhere in Ohio. Â The ceremony was then followed by what was probably the coolest bubble exit we have photographed yet. Â Be sure to scroll down to see what I’m talking about.
The evening concluded with dinner and lots of dancing back at Portage Country Club. Â The Avenue kept the dance floor grooving all night. Â In the end, the day went so smoothly in large part due to efforts and attention of wedding coordinator. Â Maria of Elegant Events by Maria did a fantastic job and she is always a pleasure to work with.
Ken and Lauren – congratulations and thank you so much for making us a part of such an important day! Â Here are just a few of our favorites. Â Enjoy!
