Matthew and Sara are two of the kindest, most generous and gracious people we have had the pleasure to photograph. Â We thoroughly enjoyed the little treats she and her Mom brought us from her home state of Wisconsin and it was so fun to see how much of Sara’s Wisconsin heritage and Matt’s interest in Star Wars and Legos they where able to work into all different parts of the day. Â Some of my favorite touches where the Lego Star Wars figurings in all of the bridal party arrangements and the apple fritter take home favors (yum). Â Matthew even constructed a card box out of legos complete with Lego figurines representing both Matt and Sara.
Sara and her bridesmaids made their preparations for the day at a nearby hotel while Matt and the guys rendezvoused at Mapleside Farms Lodge, where the ceremony and reception would later take place. Â The mood was relaxed and casual and it offered us a great opportunity to get to know the bridal party and families a little bit. Â Matt and Sara shared their first look on the hill overlooking the valley before we set off with them around the property. Â Matt managed to sneak us into the barn for a bit. Â Luckily, there was no other event going on that day so we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Â But, the weather was beautiful outside so we didn’t spend much time inside the barn. Â Thanks to a helpful gentleman with a golf cart, we where able to make our way all around the grounds with minimal walking.
The highlight of the day had to have been when during the reception, Matt, Sara, and almost all of their guests left the reception to head over to the giant slide that was set up as part of Mapleside’s Fall Festival. Â Everyone took their turn flying down the slide much to the delight of all the festival onlookers.
Sara and Matt; you guys have been so wonderful to work with! Here are some of our favorites from the day. Â There’s lots more where this came from!
