We recently had the pleasure of photographing Devon and Robyn’s Gervasi Vineyard wedding and we were so glad to have been a part of it. Both Robyn and Devon are kind, thoughtful and beautifully expressive people. They instantly made the two of us feel right at home around their closest friends and family and it was so rewarding for us to be able to capture those relationships for them.
The day started with preparations in the villas followed by a first look and a stroll around the grounds with just Robyn, Devon, the two of us, and our cameras. Devon’s affection for Robyn was clearly evident which made our job super easy and Robyn was always ready to respond in kind. This results in many, many “mini-moments” all throughout the day. Little things that we can’t manufacture or create as photographers, but we can capture them if we are observant and prepared.
The ceremony took place in the shade of a massive grove of oak trees near the lake. The setting matched the mood of the ceremony perfectly. Both Devon and Robyn shared very personal, heart felt vows to each other that left very few dry eyes. It’s not easy to shoot through tears, but it’s definitely doable.
