It was a beautiful and emotional day for Ryan and Jennifer during their wedding at Gervasi Vineyard this fall. Â It’s not often as wedding photographers that we get to experience and document such a full range of emotions that we saw with them and their families. Â There was no shortage of fun and laughter and no one was too busy to take a few moments to toss around a football or to just sit and relax for a few minutes just to be together before the next big event of the day. Â Light hearted fun and laughter is great, but we saw and aimed to capture something far more profound going on as well. Â The bitterness of missing loved ones who are no longer with us seemed to give way to a deep and fulfilling gratitude and appreciation for family, friends, and the relationships that have been built over the years. Â Not a single moment was taken for granted and it really was a wonderful thing to see.
The weather couldn’t have cooperated any better and we had a great time exploring around the grounds creating images with Ryan and Jennifer after their first look. Â Gervasi Vineyard has so many great spots to offer and even though we have shot there many times before, we where still able to find some new spots and come up with some new ideas combined with some of the classics. Â We finished up with the bridal party with just enough time to toss the football around before family and bridal party packed themselves into the dining room of the farm house for a particularly poignant katubah signing expertly presided over by Jennifer’s uncle, Marshall.
Marshall and the Ryan’s family’s Priest shared ceremony duties in the pavilion striking a great balance between Jennifer’s Jewish and Ryan’s Catholic heritage. Â At the end of the ceremony, Ryan came down on the glass with such force that he walked down the aisle with a thick shard of glass sticking out of the bottom of his shoe. Â I’m just glad it didn’t go deeper; that could have been painful!
There where two really unique touches to the reception. Â Ryan and Jennifer brought in Jonathan Cortez, one of their favorite DJ/vocal performers who regaled the guests during cocktail hour and dinner. Â Ryan and Jen also had our friends at Graham River Productions drape the entire perimeter of the pavilion with light strands that really added to the mood.
Ryan and Jennifer – it was such a pleasure to spend with the day with you and your families and we are so excited about what we where able to capture for you! Here’s just some of our favorites with lots more to come. Â Enjoy!
