There were some stories told during Desmond and Erika’s wedding day about how they met. Something about Desmond, the surgeon, running into Erika, the attractive nurse, with a gurney carrying a patient while on his way to the surgical unit. Erika, out of her annoyance, quickly asked “Where did you learn to drive; India?”
I don’t know if any of this is really true, but hey, lets not let the truth get in the way of a good story. And if I can help this story get traction as a family legend that lives on for decades, then all the better.
Whatever actually did happen, it certainly happened for a reason, because it eventually led to this day, where two best friends made a commitment to spend the rest of their lives together. And we were fortunate enough to be there to document it.
The day started out with the ceremony at The Church of the Gesu, then we headed over to the art museum for some chilly photos with what daylight we had left. The cold chased us back to the Renaissance hotel where the reception was held in the beautifully lit ambassador room.
Congrats, Erika and Desmond! It’s been so great to get to know you!
