We recently had the honor of spending the day with Tommy and Grace during their summer wedding at the Cleveland Botanical Gardens. Â We started the day at Grace’s parent’s house where Grace prepared for they day in her childhood bedroom. Â We absolutely love being able to tie pieces of our couple’s personal history into our photography and being in the bride’s childhood setting provides some really great opportunities. Â Grace and her family made us feel instantly welcome even if the latch on the front door decided to pick that day to break and not let us in when we first knocked. Â We’ll try not to take it personally.
We then met up with Tommy just outside of Severance Hall for a first look and mid-day portraits of the couple.  Being in front of a camera is not Tommy’s favorite place in the world to be but as soon as he got to see and connect with Grace, and if he kept his attention on her, all was well with the world.  As someone who also doesn’t really care to  be the center of attention, I can totally relate.  Tommy is also an avid music fan and we discovered that our musical tastes overlap in some unusual areas.  We stole a few minutes swapping band names and discussing what we have been listening to recently, which is a conversation I hope we get to pick up on again later on.
The ceremony took place in the sunken gardens at the Cleveland Botanical Gardens followed by cocktail hour and reception in the main ballroom. Â The sun moved passed the trees just in time to bathe the ceremony in beautiful late afternoon light. Â Grace’s uncle officiated the ceremony and several of their close friends and family shared readings. Â The ceremony felt intimate and personal which seemed to be a perfect fit for Grace and Tommy.
Grace and Tommy – thank you so much for trusting us to document your day! Â Here are just a handful of our favorite images. Â Can’t wait to share the rest with you and your families!
