Last week Genevieve and I headed out to Napoleon, Ohio for Ohio Professional Photographer’s Summer Snap event where we had the opportunity to host a “photo safari” where we discussed and demonstrated our approach for posing, lighting, and directing a bride and groom in the high pressure, fast paced context of a wedding day.
This was a very new experience for us and a very interesting challenge to not only execute what we do on a typical wedding day, but somehow at the same time explain our thinking in a way that’s actually comprehensible to thirty or forty other photographers looking on. It’s a lot harder than it sounds.
A huge thanks to Heather and Jarred from Inlux Photo for being willing to act as our “bride and groom” for the event and for their willingness to “pose a little more lame” so that we could talk through the really common issues we often have to fix when people get in front of the camera for the first time.
Hopefully we can do it again sometime!
